I installed these for my garage to accommodate a 6 inch recessed retrofit LED light. The two pieces bolt together with M3 bolts, providing a sturdy connection. Originally, the garage light fixture was bolted from the inside, while this one hangs down from the ceiling. The lights I used are specifically: 4-12 x PARMIDA 5.6W 15W LED Retrofit Downlight Baffle Trim Recessed Dimmable ETL.
