6 Hole Flute
thingiverse
The project, which involves Cymon (without a MakerBot), NYCDESIGNER, and a Recorder design, led to the need for more exploration. As a result, a parametric OpenSCAD script was developed based on a whistle/flute from ggwhistles.com. This flute can play six notes clearly and loudly but is simpler than Cymon's recorder and not as visually appealing. The project is ongoing, with the goal of making the mouthpiece/lip easier to print. Instructions include printing bottom, middle, and top parts, ensuring air tightness before sliding on the mouthpiece, which may need filing for a better fit. Alternatively, one can print top1 and glue it to middle and bottom or experiment with different tops and mouthpieces using the joint_ring. However, don't print assembly_solid unless you have a large printer with support.
