6-Bars Quick-Return Mechanism

Bar mechanisms are commonly utilized due to their numerous applications; here they are employed as quick-returns with an input speed of 12 [rpm] and one turn completed in just 5 seconds. Each turn spends 61.6% of the time advancing and 38.4% returning. The model was designed using Solidworks 2016, rendered with Simlab Composer 7 Mechanical Edition, and edited for frames in Virtualdub before being saved as AVI/X264 and BMP files. The video was remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui, while gifs were created using PhotoScape. IrfanView was used to edit the renders. Both 3D-PDF and SIMLAB files are animated, and the model is available in a variety of formats including Solidworks 2016, Simlab Composer 7, DAE, STEP, IGES, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, and 3DS.
