The bowl exhibits an unmistakable resemblance to a Roman glass vessel. Its design takes the form of a truncated cone, characterized by a flared rim and a narrow base. Vertical embossed ribs adorn its surface, creating a visually striking pattern. This semi-fine category vessel is believed to have been used for serving and consuming food. Discovered in Costeşti – Laz, a commune within Orăştioara (Hunedoara County), the bowl measures 17.5 cm in height, with a rim diameter of 31.1 cm and a base diameter of 13.3 cm. Crafted from clay, its semi-fine brown-reddish paste contains mica and sand, which has been burnished to perfection. Employing traditional techniques, the vessel was hand-built using reduction firing methods. Dating back to the 1st century AD, this Late Iron Age (Dacian) relic holds significant historical value.
