I added an extremely powerful motor to my Z84 (Cobra CP-2210 2200kv) and discovered that the original thrust angle made large throttle changes extremely hazardous due to the nose pitching down aggressively. This wedge was designed to address this issue. I modified the design to incorporate a 6° upward angle on the motor and included cut-outs so that the motor wires could still be routed through the mount while allowing air to continue flowing out of the back of the model. The wedge is installed with its thinnest section pointing straight up, which brings the motor thrust line closer to zero. This component does not alter any left-to-right thrust angle. Flight testing has revealed a significant improvement. While I still experience a pitch-down moment at high speeds, this modification has greatly enhanced the flying characteristics of my model. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIE6uRFDafc
