The Bismarck class was a pair of battleships built for the Kriegsmarine during the late 1930s and early 1940s. The pair were the largest and most powerful ships commissioned into the Kriegsmarine. The Bismarck was made famous by the events of May 1941 when she sailed from Gotenhafen to attack allied convoys in the Atlantic. She engaged the British Battleships Hood and Prince of Wales, destroying the former and forcing the latter to withdraw. She was damaged by aircraft launched from the British Carrier Victorious which allowed the British battleships Rodney and King George V to engage her ultimately leading to her sinking. Tirpitz spent most of her career in Norwegian Fjords threatening Convoys to Russia. She was ultimately sunk in November 1944 in Tromso by Royal Air force Bombers.     This model is designed in the 1/1800 scale but can be printed in 1/2400 scale without appreciable loss of detail. The model comes as several STL files, one for the ships’ Hull and multiple sprues for the Bridge, turrets, cranes etc. There are two sprues for the turrets, one has the turret barrels horizontal whilst the other has the barrels elevated to show the ship in combat. We have tested a few of our designs at two additional scales: 1/3000 and 1/1200 which have all turned out really well. At 1/3000 scale though some components are very small and require additional patience when assembling.
