6.5 Grendel - Ammo Box tip protectors for tip down placement

In searching for ammo storage boxes for the 6.5 grendel, I was very unhappy with the storage options available (short of the milled box which is a thing of beauty but pricey). Most of them suggest bullet side up storage or highly limit OAL. Not only do I not like this when doing load development as I like to mark primers with sharpie to designate differences (you can mark the bullet but when coated it washes out and limits your color variation options), but when storing bullet side up... every box I found dumped the cartridges loose after firing making it less orderly for a much closer review of each case once I get home. Ergo I wanted something to allow for bullet side down storage. I tried several options with either a snug or loose fit within the box and found for 50rd boxes (13-13.25mm squares) I liked a loose drop in design. As my first draft had a small retrieval hole to allow for pick removal if it got stuck or was too snug, I left it in afterwards as it didn't hurt anything and might be useful in a tighter box. For 20 round slip boxes that I like for hunting rounds, I preferred a more snug fit hence the 12mm version. My preferred range box is the 50 slot Plano. The slot sizes are ~13-13.25mm squares and I allowed for these to be loose and easily removal if I want to go back. The inserts are for 6.5mm rounds to protect tips and prevent jostling when stored in the tip down position. The cases are supported on their 30 degree shoulder and the neck keeps the rounds relatively straight. Safely protects tips to a little over 1.2" (~30mm) from the neck/shoulder junction. Please note, as I wanted max seating length, I sized the inserts so that it would just kiss the lid when closing unless you tilt the box back slightly so that the give with the small amount of slop will let it close freely. This leaves about 1/16" above the case head to the top of the box. 50mm Test Box info- Manufacturer: Plano Model: 1228-50 (designed for .22-250, .243, 30-30, etc)
