6-1 Chainmail

thingiverse

In 6-in-1 chainmail, each ring is connected to six others and boasts twice the amount of rings as a typical 4-in-1 chainmail. The rings are not true toroids but are octagonal in shape, allowing for increased thickness. Currently, there are three STL files available, labeled according to the number of rings on each side. A 4x4 design features 16 rings while a 5x7 setup has 33 rings; however, the largest 13x19 design boasts an impressive 242 rings, although it hasn't been printed yet due to time constraints. The 13x19 design just fits on a 140x140mm print bed. Printing was done with a raft, but removal proved to be a challenging task. On July 31st, an octagonal single ring and an open ring were added to the designs, both of which are essential for anyone familiar with chainmail creation.
