5x5 Neopixel LED Matrix
thingiverse
This is an effortless 5x5 panel designed specifically for Neopixel LED strips. The inner rectangle cutout perfectly fits the Neopixel housing, requiring only a small drop of hot-glue to secure each pixel in place. Printing time comes out to be approximately five hours with a 0.3mm layer height and an incredibly slow first layer speed. Placing pixels into position, preparing them, as well as wiring and soldering, takes roughly two hours per matrix. You can use printer paper or something similar as a diffuser to achieve a nice contrast between the pixels. There is also a STL file available for connectors/spacers that enables you to connect multiple panels together seamlessly. I personally built a 2x2 panel, resulting in a stunning 10x10 square display capable of effortlessly showcasing retro animations and text. A link to the Github project source code will be provided shortly.
