5vDC motor mod for MR-4 Robotic Tank
thingiverse
Customized inner track frame for MR-4 Robotic Tank by @timmiclark, tailored specifically to fit a 5v dc robot motor, as showcased in the provided photo. This design is derived from @timmiclark's prototank project, with a fitting spindle included for upstream cog implementation. When assembling this track frame, you may need to create your own mechanism to maintain tension on the tracks, as this aspect is still under development. To print this model successfully, use a 0.2mm layer height, ensuring that the built-in support for the top plate is properly generated. The top plate itself is 0.2mm thick and will not print correctly if a different layer height is used. Verify your slicer's preview functions to confirm the support's location around 20.20mm in height. Regarding the spindle print settings, they are not critical and can be adjusted according to your preferences. In some instances, motors with small dots on one side may interfere with the design, whereas rotating the motor 180 degrees in relation to the gearbox resolves this issue. Removing the transparent plastic band around the motor can also facilitate a successful installation. This customized inner track frame was designed using Onshape, and the public document can be accessed at https://cad.onshape.com/documents/d8c4adafec7a4fa8559b9542/w/6c2d63d8b7dbfb77c4d6c361/e/ce81898843ff29023f3e02cd.
