5V DC Motor Wind Turbine

This is a remix of: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:85168 with some additions to accommodate a 5V brushed DC motor. Motor: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B084H8YDTV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The original proof of concept design was meant to be used with the motor and gearbox. However, the gearbox meant that the torque required to spin the turbine was higher than what could be generated even in ideal conditions. The second version of the design is meant be be used with the motor by itself. This required changing the mating between the shaft and the motor as well as re-designing the mount. This one does spin under mild conditions and produces a low amount of voltage. This was created for a school project where we were trying to create a product which could demonstrate a scientific concept. My group tackled factors affecting vertical and horizontal axis turbines. It was my job to create a design that addressed the impact of blade arm length, blade area and position on efficiency. The larger and smaller blade arms are both compatible with the provided central hub. The hub is compatible with both versions of the shaft.
