5th Generation Replicator Build Plate Locks
cults3d
Having a stationary build plate (other than moving down) during printing is a crucial factor in achieving optimal print quality from your 5th Generation Replicator - just like any other 3D printer - and can also resolve issues such as failed prints. If you own a 5th Generation Replicator, inspect the slide-in/slide-out build plate to see how much movement there is within the home position. Even brand-new Replicators may exhibit a couple of millimeters of movement. Although it might not be visible, this can potentially allow the build plate to vibrate or move during printing. The build plate locks are designed to firmly lock the 5th Generation Replicator's build plate in its home position and eliminate forward/backward movement. They're quick prints, easy to install/remove, and a simple safeguard that enhances print quality and overall performance of 5th Generation Replicators. There's no noticeable movement with the 5th Generation Replicator build plate, but since even minor vibrations/movements can compromise print quality, these build plate locks serve as a safeguard against vibration/movement. With them installed, there should be zero forward/backward movement of the build plate - it should be locked firmly in place. If you enjoy this design, check out my other practical and fun creations.
