5th Gen Diary
thingiverse
In my initial attempts with the 5th Generation MakerBot 3D Printer, I was highly satisfied. The printer successfully produced three items, including a turbofan that worked efficiently. However, I encountered some challenges while learning to use MakerBot's desktop software and experienced occasional print head jams. Other issues included connectivity problems between the printer and desktop, PLA twisted reels causing feed failures, blue tape releasing from the build plate, and camera image quality concerns. Nonetheless, I managed to print various items, including a rose with a neopixel behind it and quad copter support legs, which turned out great thanks to helpful suggestions from fellow users. Despite some technical glitches, my overall experience has been positive, with an impressive 15 hours of run time and 17 small parts printed to date.
