This project contains a reworked extruder for the 5th Element V1.0 (originally designed and open-sourced by 3DiWell team, https://www.3diwell.com/download/extruders/689/).The original 5th Element V1 extruder is equipped with an orbiter-based self-designed main drive. The biggest problem with that drive was self-designed gears, originally printed with Prusament PC Blend (https://www.prusa3d.com/product/prusament-pc-blend-prusa-orange-970g/), which introduces some challenges during the print process because not all printers are able to satisfy required conditions for PC material. In addition, according to users' feedback, those printed gears were a weak point of the product and they broke relatively quickly. As a result, the 3DiWell team decided to replace the main drive in their V2 head's extruder (called Shark) with a self-designed orbiter drive to drive which is based on standard BMG gears. The current project is a rework of the original 5th Element V1 extruder and replaces the orbiter-based gear drive with BMG gears. The main idea of this redesign was to keep 100% mount compatibility with the 5th Element V1 carriage. To satisfy that requirement and simplify the printing process, the main body of the extruder was split into three parts joined together with screws. The motor mount plate part was inspired by the motor mount plate from the MaCho extruder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5348108.The stp file for the modified extruder is attached to this project.Note: Despite the fact that the original 5th Element V1 extruder uses M2.5 screws and nuts for all joints, all new joints introduced in this project are based on M3 screws and threaded inserts.Extra BOM:ScrewsM3x6 (e.g. ISO7380) - 4M3x10 (e.g. ISO7380) - 2M3x10 (e.g. DIN7991) - 1M3x16 (e.g. DIN7991) - 1M2.5x30 (e.g. ISO7380) - 1Threaded InsertsM3x4 (short) - 8M2.5x5 (long) - 1
