First Draft of 5P LiFePO4 26650 Sub-Module Design Overview The proposed design consists of five parallel-connected cells, each a 26650 LiFePO4 battery, arranged in a custom PCB assembly. The module's overall dimensions are approximately 180mm in length, 70mm in width, and 40mm in height. Each cell is connected to the adjacent one through a dedicated high-frequency DC-DC converter, enabling efficient transfer of energy between cells while maintaining a relatively low system voltage. This configuration allows for improved thermal management and reduced stress on individual cells during charging/discharging cycles. The PCB layout incorporates multiple layers for signal routing, power distribution, and ground planes to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI) and ensure reliable operation in harsh environments. A high-accuracy voltage sensing circuit is integrated into the module to monitor cell voltages in real-time. This feature enables early detection of potential issues or faults within the system, ensuring prompt corrective action can be taken to maintain optimal performance. The sub-module's electrical characteristics are as follows: nominal capacity - 20Ah; maximum discharge current - 40A; minimum charge/discharge temperature range - -10°C to +50°C. These specifications make it suitable for a wide range of applications requiring high-energy density and reliability.
