I recommend printing so that the holes for LEDs are neatly aligned with the bedhead and the "handle" is at a 45-degree angle. It's best to print on a raft if your adhesion isn't strong enough. Until recently, I had a LED strip attached to my Geeetech i3. I needed to place the strip underneath, so I designed an alternative way to illuminate the printing bed. I created a small 5mm LED holder that is easy to print and attach. It's meant to be secured with M4 screws to the GT2 X-carriage, which is used in my remix thing:4165311 of "Unified Prusa i3 extruder" - thing:1277720. The only drawback is that it can only be attached correctly if your GT2 carriage is upside down. I'm assuming this won't cause any issues, regardless of whether you have it right-side up or not. All holes are precisely designed for 5mm LEDs and prevent them from going too far in. It might be beneficial to add a cover because the LEDs also shine through the back, but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Everything important can be seen in the photos, so don't forget to use a resistor! I connected all 8 LEDs to 12V using a 200ohm resistor. You can also connect them serially, just ensure they have the right voltage or use an appropriate resistor: I = U / R, therefore R = U / I; while I should be less than 20mA for one white LED, U is your supply voltage (usually 12V) and R is your required resistor. For me, it was R = 12V / (8 LEDs * 0.008A) = 187.5 ohms. I wanted to limit the current to 8mA so they last longer and aren't too bright. I'm attaching a .dwg file, sources (where I obtained the dimensions from), photos, and of course, STL files for both left and right parts with 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 LEDs. I personally use four LEDs, but three should work well too. It mainly depends on how far you have the nozzle from the X carriage in the Y axis.
