5mm LED Diffuser - Quick & Dirty
thingiverse
Experimenting with an Arduino prototype, I struggled with water-clear LEDs that were difficult to capture on video and harsh on the eyes. Resorting to unconventional diffusers like paper and polythene bags, I discovered a printable 5mm LED diffuser. Although not aesthetically pleasing, it proved sturdy. To use this diffuser, you have two options: Shrink-Fit Diffuser for immediate usage with the LED, or Press-Fit (Non-Shrink) Diffuser for later installation requiring careful handling and possibly pliers. No raft is needed during printing. A note about the photo: it was taken when the LEDs were fading up and down, resulting in varying brightness.
