5mm Hex (Allen) Wrench for Bicycle Disc Brakes
pinshape
This is a compact finger wrench that I created to fine-tune the Disc Brakes on my Trek DS Tektro Novela Disc brakes. As the pads deteriorate, I discover that I need to adjust the stationary pad which demands a 5mm hex wrench. Because the spokes obstruct access, using a standard long handled 5mm hex wrench (or combination wrench) is extremely cumbersome. This design effortlessly fits into the available space and enables you to swiftly and precisely adjust the distance between the fixed brake pad (the one that remains stationary when you press your brake lever) and the rotor. I produced mine with PLA but ABS would work equally well. If you fabricate one, especially for another bike/brake system or another purpose entirely, I would appreciate a comment. I'm providing the FreeCad file so you can modify the shape/size as needed to suit your application.
