58mm solar filter for DSLR

Besides the printed parts, you'll need: AstroSolar Safety Film OD 5.0 or its equivalent alternative. A 58 mm screw-thread lens mount is required; I obtained mine from a cheap replica of the Mennon DV-S 58. Three 4×6 mm bolts (or similar) with nuts are also necessary. Cyanoacrylate glue, commonly known as Super Glue, will be used. Print the parts using heat-resistant white plastic that tolerates UV light and sand them afterwards. Cut the bolting holes to fit your chosen bolts. Cut a 70 mm diameter circle (60 mm + 5 mm overlap) from the AstroSolar Safety Film OD 5.0. Glue the film in between two circular flange parts, attaching one of the flanges first, followed by the second. Next, cut the screw-threading part of the lens hood and sand it too. Attach this to the triangle flange mount using glue. Use bolts to connect the filter to the lens adapter securely.
