Since I could not find my shitty phone holder from eBay, I had to make my own, and here it is. It's pretty simple and fast to use.

I don't like all-plastic models that much, so it does require springs, a threaded 1/4" brass insert (standard camera gear size), and two 1.5mm steel rods. There are 2 parts to print.

Fusion file is included. It's very easy to modify if you need to.

The clamp goes from 57 to around 90mm.

It's 40mm wide.

It will hold thick phones, or a phone with a thick case. 15mm is around the limit. Depends on the shape.

All parts are printed 100% solid.

Parts are printed standing up.

Can be printed with 0.3 layer height.

Can probably be printed with resin.

If you have a slippery phone, you can add some foam tape (like weatherstripping) to get more grip.

Your model will have a 0.5mm gap between the two parts. I changed it so the parts touch on the inside bottom first. It's so the springs don't try to pull the layers apart, If the parts smack together.

You can use 1, 2 or 3 springs inside, to get the clamping force you need. The springs can be up to 7.5mm in diameter. I use 2 6x25x0.5mm springs. If you don't have loose springs, you can probably take them out of pens or something.

Instead of steel rods, you can probably use a paperclip or a nail. This is what holds the springs in place. The springs are attached to the bottom rod first, then pulled out with pliers and hooked to the top rod. It can be a bit fiddly, if you have strong springs. The hole will probably need to be drilled out with a bit close to that size. I wanted a tight fit so I did not use any offset. Printing holes that small precisely on fdm is not possible, so drilling is the best option. Adjust the Fusion file if you use different rods.

The threaded insert needs to be inserted with heat. You can do this by putting it on a long 1/4 screw, then heat it up with a lighter or gas torch, then press it in. Alternatively you can enlarge the hole in the Fusion file and glue the insert in, instead. Or you could put plastic threads there too, but I like the durability of metal threads.

To find the insert I'm using, search eBay for:
1/4" threaded insert brass 9

It's 9mm (OD) 8mm (H)

If you have inserts that are close, but not the same, you can adjust the Fusion file.

I also suggest you file a chamfer on the insert so it pushes the plastic to the side, instead of down. I got a much better result that way.
