52mm Camera Lens Cap

52mm Camera Lens Cap

thingiverse

This is a 52mm Camera Lens Cap that I made myself. It doesn't need any special tools to assemble or bolts; it's assembled entirely by pressure/friction and holds really well on my printer. When you try it on your lens, make sure the bottom of the cap isn't scratching the lens. You can glue a piece of cloth on the bottom side if you want to be safe. On the lens I tested it on (Nikon 18-55mm), it worked great. I am not responsible for damaged lenses - check your clearance and force. Print Settings Notes: Part 1 and 2 are designed to print without supports, just make sure they're oriented correctly; Part two might need to be rotated 180 degrees. Part 3 (the spring part) needs support. How I Designed This I designed the part in Onshape - if anyone wants to modify it, feel free to do so. If you share your version, please provide a link to the original Thingiverse page of the project and the Onshape link.
