50mm Lens Holder with magnet holes

50mm Lens Holder with magnet holes

thingiverse

This is a versatile lens holder, designed to securely grip a 50mm lens. The lens fits snugly into place due to its clever snap mechanism. To ensure optimal flexibility for the snap action, it's essential to use ABS filament. For added stability, consider drilling and tapping the side holes to accommodate 6-32 set screws. Two strategically placed depressions can hold up to 17mm diameter magnets, effectively keeping the lens in place on a horizontal metal surface, as demonstrated by one photo. Alternatively, these depressions can be modified to accept bolts for even more secure mounting. Notably, the center of the lens is positioned approximately 38.5mm above the bottom, mirroring the height of the LitiHolo laser, making it an ideal tool for creating holograms and conducting optical experiments. The included FreeCad file allows users to easily modify the design dimensions to suit their specific needs.
