50mm Easy Print Spool

50mm Easy Print Spool

I am always running into situations where I have wire or string or whatever laying around in a big spaghetti mess and thinking "See, NR417? This is why you SAVE YOUR SPOOLS, you a**hat!". So, finally, I made one for printing. Took me long enough, right? Right. Anyway, whatcha do is you print two of the ends, then print the center tube, then glue the ends into the tube and presto, nearly-instant spool for wire or string or whatever, thus putting a timely end to spaghetti mess in your universe. As such it is an outer diameter of 50mm with a center spindle of more or less 23mm and an inner width of more or less 24mm, but of course it's totally scalable and you can make these smaller or much larger at your discretion, based on your needs of the moment. From the finest magnet wire up to the largest, most massive RF transmission line, it's all up to you and the limits of your printer. I've included two types of end pieces - a solid one and one with convenient slots for passing wire, thread or whatever through for easy tie off or making coils or whatever. Have fun! Rick NR417
