50mm Cat Scratching Post Connector

A connector for 50mm PVC pipe to aid in constructing a cat scratching tree/post. Generally scratching posts come with their own plastic connector on the ends of the post, but I could not find anything remotely similar in the hardware store, so resorted to designing my own. Connector fits tightly on PVC and is very strong. I added glue in the groove of each connector to help prevent the pipe from slipping off. However, even without glue it is very hard to get the connector off once on. Connector is also threaded (M6 bolt). Tried ripping the bolt out of the connector and literally could not. I designed it to hold a big fat ginger cat, and so far it is held together quite well! Because it is threaded, you do not need a nut. A bolt alone will work fine. Also, you can thread it both ways so sometimes I would join to connectors separated by wood with a single bolt so that the posts seamlessly follow on from one another. Hope it helps someone out there!
