Many ducts featuring a standard 40mm axial fan come equipped with a center diffuser component located downstream of the fan hub. The goal is to enhance the fluid dynamics between the duct and fan. However, when switching to a fan adapter, you're left with an unwanted diffuser that doesn't serve any purpose. One solution is to remove it completely, either through brute force or by utilizing a CAD program to delete it. This was my predicament when I stumbled upon bofus's dual 5015 radial fan to 40mm design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2671702 Instead of modifying my part cooling duct, I chose to recreate his exceptional design from scratch. I added an extension as well as a center "bullet" that aligns with the typical hub diffuser found in many fan ducts designed for 40mm axial fans, including the part cooling duct I've been using. If your existing duct lacks this central piece, it's recommended to use bofus's original design rather than my modified version.
