5015 LED Sprite Cooler V4
thingiverse
I modified the horn to add (2) 5mm LEDs. Printing with translucent PETG makes the entire part become a light diffuser for nice even lighting without being too intense. I've wired these 12v LEDs to the buck converter I'm using for the hotend fan so that they come on whenever the hotend is on. With this bigger 5015 fan, I get far better cooling than the stock fan, even with my max cooling speed set to 50% (which I recommend you do). It's nice and quiet cooling. The duct does not block access to the silicone sock if you need to remove it for changing nozzles or whatever. 5mm LEDs should pop right in. How you wire is up to you, just be careful messing with the wires or your can blow your control board. *** I sliced with SuperSlicer and it indicated there are errors in the horn stl. However it prints fine as-is. In fact when I told it to repair the errors, I found a few layers of material were added across the center duct, which is obviously not good. Don't fix the errors and you'll be fine. The fan mount is optimized for printing vertical without supports, just make sure you have your bridge settings turned on and it should print fine. Also, when you mount this, you'll want to make sure the LED wires are routed directly out the left side so that they don't get smashed between the stepper and the duct. If they do, you may not be able to get the duct above the nozzle. It needs to be almost right up against the motor. Here's a set of picoblade male and female pigtails that you may find useful. PLEASE NOTE - you'll need to swap the red and black wires in these connectors in order to match the Sprite's wiring. It's not difficult to do. : https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B013JRWCBU?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details This is the fan I'm using: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B079BPS9Q8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 Here's the 12v LEDs I'm using (without the buck converter, you'll need 24v LEDs or you can wire 2 of these 12v ones in series): https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07T8H6V37?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
