This is a remix from Handyman1 who had reworked lucassiglo21's design. Thank you two for the inspiration! I really liked the standard base size. It fits well in the larger metal ammo boxes. I also liked the standard lid. I learned that I need to adjust the height of the base if you change calibers though. My tweaks come from personal preference as do most remixes. I like ammo to be nose down in the box. But Handyman1's these were too loose for me. They fell over if you go nose down. I thought about putting in a round nose cradle to really hold it but didn't want to alienate the flat tip ammo. I also pulled the height of the box lid down to reduce the slop. Again, just my preference. I have 9mm and 45 ACP here. They use the same lid. I have been using a 1 1/4" 18 GA brad nail for the hinges inserted from the outside. It works to my liking.
