50 Pixel 17 Inch Snowflake
thingiverse
This is a revised design, carefully crafted to have 50 pixels and overlapping components that seamlessly lay flat when assembled. The thickness of each component has been adjusted for optimal fitment. If printed with an accuracy higher than .3 mm, the overlapping holes/posts may be slightly loose due to this optimized design. However, considering the intended use of these snowflakes in outdoor light displays, I typically print them in draft form, ensuring they can withstand close inspection. To assemble these snowflakes, a small amount of CA glue is sufficient; alternatively, you can simply insert pixels for a secure hold, allowing for easy disassembly each year if desired. When printing, ensure that part A has supports enabled to prevent any structural issues. Part B does not require supports and should print smoothly without any complications. To facilitate optimal results, print 5 units of each part (A and B). An updated xModel will be available soon. UPDATE: For a smoother printing experience, use rev 2 of Part A, which features posts aligned on one side to fit perfectly into the holes of part B. Although supports are still required for part A, this revised design makes it easier to print the holes without compromising structural integrity. Part B remains unchanged; please continue using rev 1 for optimal results.
