This model of the Radial Engine with 7-cylinders is perfect for teaching beginners' classes to engineers and students. It features many fundamental mechanisms that are essential to understand how this type of engine works. The cutaway design allows you to see every detail, including reduction gears, cam and drive gears, crankshaft and rod assembly, cylinder and piston with valve mechanism, supercharger gears and impeller. Key features include: 1. Cutaway model of entire engine * Reduction Gears (Planetary) * Cam and Drive gears * Crankshaft and Rod assembly * Cylinder and Piston with Valve mechanism * Supercharger gears and Impeller 2. Air Intake and Exhaust Pipes 3. Simplified Accessories (Propeller Hub with half blades, Carburetor, Magneto and Starter etc.) This model can be rotated, but it's not smooth due to valve mechanism resistance and friction. For printing and parts information, there are approximately 80 STL parts and many hardware components, including bearings. You can purchase these from a DIY shop or online store easily and replace them with equivalent similar parts if needed. All parts data are included in the manual. Estimated net print time is over 90 hours. It takes a long time to print parts, treat after printing, and assemble everything. STL file name: "ws" of last two digits means "With Support," which is specially designed. However, some parts need additional slicer support. Refer to the "Remarks" column for more information. The assembly manual is available in PDF format, and it's up-to-date as of 2018.10.29. The manual includes detailed instructions on how to assemble the engine, including parts-list, after-printing treatment, and assembly procedure. However, there are many complicated parts that require finishing and machining (filing, drilling, and tapping). Additionally, some sample manual pages are shown in photos. For general notes, here are a few tips: 1. For M1.4 Screw: No need to tap; just drill with φ1.0 drill then screw-in directly. 2. Screw to AL pipe: Put the screw into the pipe end and squeeze the pipe using pliers. Check if it's fixed properly. 3. Small diameter shaft parts: Use 100% infill when printing, and apply adhesive for acrylic resin to keep strength. 4. Recommended Drills and Taps: * Drill: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.2, 5.0, 5.2, 7.2 * Tap: M2, M3 For 3D printing settings, use the following: * Raft: Depending on your experience. * Support: Use it if necessary. * Layer Height: Choose a suitable layer height for your printer. * Infill: For parts with gear, small shaft, and thin portion, use 100% infill.
