I've created a stunning 3D model of the beautiful "Stella Maris" building to showcase another incredible artistic treasure found in Italy's rich heritage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9wnnU9yYec The Stella Maris building is an historic structure shaped like an airplane, designed by architects Leone and Liguori in 1939. Located in the municipality of Montesilvano, Pescara province, in Abruzzo region, it's a seaside resort just a few meters from the sea. My model is a faithful replica of the original building in all its parts, scaled down to 1/100 (meaning every centimeter represents one meter in real life). To make printing possible with common 3D printers, I divided the entire structure into sections and then into individual parts with maximum dimensions ranging from 15 to 19 cm. Before proceeding with printing, I noticed that in the "CURA" program, the parts appear in reduced dimensions. To return to the desired scale, you need to enlarge them 10 times. This publication includes two sections: ground floor and stairs. Later, all other sections will follow, as the drawing is complete, divided only into parts for 3D printing. The base of the entire model measures approximately 80 x 60 cm, requiring a suitable surface for assembling the various components. In my first section, I'll present the entire ground floor and stairs of the building. Then, I'll continue working on publishing all remaining sections. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ex+Colonia+Stella+Maris/@42.5101722,14.1705575,248a,35y,270h,39.46t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x1331a5e9f39ef639:0xb45b315f080230fe!8m2!3d42.5105254!4d14.1678034 Historical Notes: The Stella Maris seaside resort in Montesilvano is one of the rare examples of Futurist architecture in Abruzzo, commissioned by the Fasci Combattenti di Rieti to architects Leoni and Liguori in 1936. The project was showcased under the theme of hygiene and order. The "climatic summer colony" served as an opportunity for designers in the 1930s to experiment with new ideas. The structure was completed in nine months and inaugurated on September 10, 1939. The building's symmetry reflects its distributive clarity: pilotis at ground level separate the airplane's wings, creating a vast shaded area that connects to external spaces. At the center lies an impressive helical staircase supported by a cylindrical pillar and topped with radial arches. The "torrino" is a cylindrical element situated between the two wings, housing the commander's apartment.
