5 Ring Combination Locker Cup
thingiverse
For all who have downloaded this project, I was not satisfied with the way the keys were dragging in the keyway. I made some changes that freed up the rings and allowed the use of full keys on both sides. Please download the new TopCap (if you have not already printed) and the new Keys. This is a combination lock Brain Teaser Puzzle Bank that I designed and built. I went to an Escape Room Game and one of the escape clues was contained in a Brain Teaser Puzzle Bank with five alphabet rings, which inspired me to design my own device. I used Inventor to draw all the parts. The outside dimension is about four and a quarter inches or 108mm. The inside space is about sixty millimeters. There are six print files, but two of them, Alpha Ring and Spacer Ring, need to be printed five times. These items take a while to print. The design is straightforward. The alpha ring has two parts: the alphabet ring and the slot ring. To select the desired character for that ring, align the slot to the letter and slide it on the LockerCup. The bottom ring is the left most character. Set the desired character for each of the remaining rings. After all five rings are placed on the cup, the CupCollar is placed on top (with the arrow pointing to the selected characters) and fastened with two - #6x1" pan screws. Some minor adjusting of the Alpha rings may be needed to align the slot for the key.
