This bulk head is designed to securely fasten a .5" pvc pipe featuring a hole in its side to your bio filter. It was created as part of a comprehensive bio filter set consisting of a screen, a large bulkhead, a motor mounting bracket, and a plug. To seal this connection effectively, it's highly recommended to use a neoprene sheet as the gasket material - specifically available from Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Neoprene-Sheet-Gasket-Black-Thick/dp/B0075ZMFME/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1426365126&sr=8-8&keywords=neoprene+rubber+sheet. You'll also need some .5" pvc pipe, several elbows, and a good amount of glue for the installation.
