5" Portable HDMI Monitor with Integrated Cover/Stand

I was on the hunt for a compact display to use with my laptop at LAN events, showcasing system information while gaming. To meet this need, I purchased the 5" Adafruit HDMI Backpack. Initially, I stored it in its padded bag and used a phone stand to hold it, but this setup quickly became impractical. Online searches yielded cases for the backpack, but none offered sufficient screen protection or the desired height adjustment when paired with my laptop's standalone display. Thus, I took on the task of designing a custom case, resulting in this innovative solution. The monitor comprises four distinct components: the Cover, Front Bezel, Back, and two Arms. To assemble this project, you will need the following parts: * 1x 5" HDMI Backpack (available at https://www.adafruit.com/product/2260) * 1x Mini Power Switch for brightness adjustment (found at https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/spdt-mini-power-switch) * 8x M2.5x12 Screws for attaching the arms * 4x M3x6 Screws to secure the back and monitor to the Front Bezel Upon assembly, the cover piece serves as both a protective shield for the screen and a stand when unfolded. In its expanded position, the bottom of the display is approximately 10cm above the surface, with a subtle 5-degree upward tilt. When folded shut, a clip on the cover secures it in place. Notably, this design does not include an integrated battery; instead, it relies on USB power to function. After using this monitor for about a year, I can confidently attest that it has been an excellent addition to my portable gaming setup, allowing me to quickly stow and deploy it as needed.
