5 Pixel POV Spinner Enclosure
thingiverse
A forthcoming enclosure for a manually spun point-of-view display inspired by fidget spinners includes an OpenSCAD file that can be somewhat parameterized. The enclosure is designed to house various components, including an ESP-8266, an 8-bit SIPO shift register, five 3mm LEDs, a small LiPo battery, weights, and hardware for sensing rotation such as a GY-521 or a hall effect sensor with magnetic add-ons mounted in the center. It remains to be seen whether all these components can fit effectively within this enclosure, which is why a second, more spacious body has been created that accepts two 608 bearings instead of one. The LEDs are held in place by hot glue, which also serves as a diffuser and adhesive. The design currently lacks a charging port or clearly defined power source, so it relies on its dovetailed shape and rubber bands to hold together.
