5-inch Shim

thingiverse

A shim measuring approximately 5 inches by 1 inch and with a thickness of a quarter inch on one end that gradually tapers down to a point on the opposite end is ideal when regular wooden shims prove insufficient. This item was designed using AutoDesk123D software, and can be printed on a MakerBot Replicator 2. To print it effectively, ensure that the stl file's measurements are converted from millimeters to inches in Makerware, or use the x3g file directly. The recommended printing settings include 15% infill, three shells, a layer height of 0.2 inches, and a temperature of 240 degrees Celsius with a print speed of 80-150 millimeters per second. Printing takes slightly over half an hour.
