5-in-1 Tetrahedron puzzle

5-in-1 Tetrahedron puzzle

myminifactory

This is a 5-in-1 puzzle designed for the Make Anything competition, built upon the concept of puzzle cubes showcased in the video. The five puzzles form approximate tetrahedra with side lengths of 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 blocks, where each block is a rhombic dodecahedron. Each puzzle employs all pieces from the immediately smaller puzzle, as follows: - For size 4, use pieces 1 through 5, - size 5, use pieces 1 through 9, - size 6, use pieces 1 through 13, - size 7, use pieces 1 through 19, - and size 8, use pieces 1 through 27. I had to borrow a 3D printer at work, which limited me to printing only the prototype (size 8), as seen in the photo. The original puzzle pieces are approximately 1 cm wide, with 0.2 mm spacing between them. I then created a second version (large_X) that is slightly larger, but with a 0.3 mm spacing. I suspect that printing all the pieces without support may be challenging.
