A crystal cave is a hollow rocky space, typically sealed, covered with crystals (often self-formed) and other mineral materials. It's not actually a mineral but rather a composition of magmatic, crystalline, and/or sedimentary formations. Found all over the planet, these caves are the primary source of minerals in mineral collections because they're an optimal medium for various mineral formations. The growth of crystals occurs by accretion around a growth germ, which can be an impurity or even a microscopic crystal of the same species. This growth usually takes place based on water under quite precise temperature and pressure conditions according to the crystal.
