5 Dollar Filament Spool
thingiverse
I'm a big fan of 5 Dollar Filaments from http://www.protoparadigm.com/5DollarFilament/, particularly for projects where I don't need a large quantity of a specific color. However, I have one major complaint - the flimsy spools they come on are really annoying. That's why I designed this replacement spool holder that can be reused. This is my second attempt, and the first one wasn't worth sharing. I used 123d Design to create the files, which are included here so others can easily modify them to fit their own center spool holders (I use a 28mm one from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1428581). To assemble it, simply attach it together with three 3mm screws - I used 20mm long ones on mine. Here are the print settings I used: Printer: Robo3d R1+ Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .3 Infill: 20%
