Description I built this model using 96 distinct printed parts over a period of three months. My goal was to create a more complex design, one that showcases the intricacies of 3D printing, for visitors to the China Science and Technology Museum to appreciate. I work there, but even our museum's simple exhibits pale in comparison to my vision. The result is Iron Man Mark 1, which everyone who has seen it loves dearly – I have one sitting on my desk right now. As a fan of the Marvel movies, I paid homage to those responsible for creating the Iron Man story line. My model features seven unique components, grouped as follows: I use PLA since it's what we have available at the science and technology museum – unfortunately that means I'm unable to use acetone when needed. To fix sticky parts, I rely on hot water; if not available I also have an arsenal of tiny screws from used glasses which work surprisingly well in their stead. The component groups include: Head of Iron man Mark 1, Left leg of Iron man Mark 1, Right Leg of Iron man Mark 1, Crotch of Iron man Mark 1, Chests of Iron man Mark1, Left arm of Iron man Mark1 and Right arm of Iron man Mark1.
