Wire turning template is a streamlined adaptation of the original design crafted by xack, mirrored to accommodate both right- and left-handed users. Pillars ver.1 features smaller holes suitable for smaller diameter ~1mm wire. The thicker ~1.5mm wire is better served by pillars ver.2. To enhance versatility, an additional 3-turn version was created for use with ~1mm wire, designed to allow for the easier drilling of a larger hole. A "fix-versio" of the pillars has also been introduced, boasting a slightly increased diameter that ensures a snug fit and helps maintain the rounded shape of the wire. When it comes to beam width: The 5-turn version achieves a -3dB beam width of approximately 48 degrees. At a distance of 10 meters, this corresponds to a beam width of roughly 8 meters. In comparison, the 3-turn model exhibits a broader -3dB beam width of around 62 degrees. Consequently, at 10 meters distant, its beam spans about 10 meters wide. Assembly Guidelines Pillars should be glued together. Since the pillars can accommodate both right- and left-handed users, just remember to designate the correct polarity by rotating one half by 180 degrees. These pillars may be secured to a reflector using a screw of approximately 2.5mm in diameter. The minimum recommended diameter for the reflector is 32mm; however, no harm comes from increasing it beyond this size. In terms of shape, it matters not whether your reflector is square or rounded – shape at your leisure!
