The Aoba class cruisers were a pair of cruisers built for the Imperial Japanese Navy in the 1920s. armed with 6 7.9 inch guns the pair were considered to be heavy cruisers. Aoba was sunk in July 1945 in Kure whilst Kinugasa was sunk during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal.   This model is designed in the 1/1800 scale but can be printed in 1/2400 scale without appreciable loss of detail. The model comes as several STL files, one for the ships’ Hull and multiple sprues for the Bridge, turrets, cranes etc. There are two sprues for the turrets, one has the turret barrels horizontal whilst the other has the barrels elevated to show the ship in combat. We have tested a few of our designs at two additional scales: 1/3000 and 1/1200 which have all turned out really well. At 1/3000 scale though some components are very small and require additional patience when assembling.
