5.25" Drive Bay Cover

5.25" Drive Bay Cover

I was repairing an older PC and didn't have a specific drive bay cover, so I searched for a generic one on thingiverse but found that everything was made to clip into a particular case or was an adapter for something else. I quickly created this design to get the job done, which consists of a simple plate in the front with minimal structure extending into the bay to reach the first screw holes. Now I can print generic covers for any case. The Sketchup file is included if anyone wants to modify this design; I made the plate dimensions slightly smaller because I didn't want to reprint or sand down for this particular job, but the covers fit well and could probably be made a bit bigger for a more snug fit. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 4 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .025mm Infill: 20% Notes: 2 bottom layers 2 top layers 2 perimeters Post-Printing Installation: Place the cover in the bay, making sure the rails are towards the bottom. Align one of the two holes on each side and use screws to attach. The holes are small so the screws can bite into the plastic.
