5/16" Tubing Support Clip Bender

Human beings frequently use 5/16" ID tubing in watering systems designed for rabbits and other small mammals. However, if the tubing comes into contact with the cage wall, curious bunnies will begin nibbling on it and create leaks. The solution is to utilize a support clip that keeps the wire away from the cage surface. I created these clips by shaping fence wire around an M14 bolt, but I wanted to improve upon this method and produce more consistent results. To make these clips, I start by wrapping the center of my length of wire around the round head at the top of the bending tool. Then, I bend the legs into shape. When placing the clip on the cage, I carefully bend the legs closed just enough to secure it in place. So far, this approach seems to be working effectively.
