5/16 to 1/4 adapter for Z Brace Kit
thingiverse
I ordered my hardware kit from Ultimate 3D Print Store, but they messed it up by using 1/4 rod instead of the required 5/16. This is why those annoying nuts just kept spinning inside the 3D printed parts. I'm fed up with that nonsense. So, I made this myself. It's very important to note that this print isn't sized correctly for a regular print job - the holes are too big. I printed it in Vase mode with a line width of .55mm and a nozzle size of .4mm. The fit is perfect. With a little squeeze, it snaps into place and stays there. Now, my 1/4 nut fits fine. This was print number six. Don't print the entire thing - stop the printer when you've got enough vertical height. I made this print too tall on purpose because I like to stop the print from the printer. This way, the bed and hot end stay hot. Then, I can simply unlock the steppers, grab the part, and start printing again without wasting time cooling down and warming up. You could do a sequential print in Simplify3D and print all six at once with one command, but why bother? You're never going to print more than that anyway!
