I built a straightforward wing nut style cradle for the everyday 5/16" finished nut found at most hardware stores. The project came together to perfectly complement my spool holder parts, performing seamlessly so far. Printed with Makerfarm Prusa i3 6" using standard black PLA. Get this thing printed out. Find your ordinary 5/16" nut lying around somewhere. Browse channels on TV and watch an episode for an hour before anything catches your attention again. Retrace your steps to the common 5/16" nut hiding spot. Return where you paused watching that episode and get a visual confirmation that the print has materialized. Now take action by pushing that familiar 5/16" nut into place with some firm but precise pressure inside that custom-built cradle thingy. Try out the wingnut style holder, feel great satisfaction at achieving something easy and effective in the end.
