The coupling shaft measures 5/16 inches in diameter and features a flat section of 5 millimeters that transitions into a 1/4 inch shaft coupler. This design allows for extra length on the 1/4 inch shaft to ensure maximum contact area and prevent slippage. The assembly process involves using three M3 cap head screws and three M3 nuts. The SolidWorks model is highly adaptable, enabling users to add an extra extension as needed and configure the two halves with different hole sizes. This parametric design provides unparalleled flexibility during the fabrication process. When printed and assembled, the coupling shaft was unfortunately unable to withstand the rigors of attachment due to a misaligned shaft that measured 5/16 inches in diameter. Additionally, the screws used for assembly were not tightened sufficiently around the shaft, resulting in a compromised connection.
