This is the Variable Nozzle for Jet Engine Afterburner (Reheater, Augmentor). There are several types of Variable Nozzle, but this is the Cam & Roller Type by design. This model was created to understand what elements are required for the Variable Nozzle mechanism. A. Design points (Cam & Roller Type): 1. A cutaway model is used to see the mechanism and nozzle movement. 2. The nozzle can be opened or closed using a tool. 3. A ball joint is only used at one end of the link rod, as it would be too small to print. 4. This can be disassembled and assembled using screwdrivers. 5. The total quantity of flaps is limited to ten (10), with seven (7) flaps used for this cutaway model. 6. The open/close diameter ratio is about 1.35, which equals an area ratio of 1.8. Assembly Manual (PDF format, total 22 pages) The assembly manual includes detailed parts lists, after printing treatment instructions, and assembly procedures based on standard skills such as filing, drilling, tapping, and painting. My design hole diameter is smaller than the finished hole diameter to ensure wall thickness during printing. The following drills and taps are required: Drill: φ1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3.5, 5.2 Tap: M1.4 (optional), M2, M3 For parts with small ball ends, drill carefully to finish the hole, then break any stickiness gently. If a ball comes out during assembly, use a suitable washer and your printed plate. C. Download files include: - STL Files (29 items): The last two digits are "ws," meaning "With Support" is special designed. - PDF(Zip) File: Assembly Manual D. Purchase Parts Information See the Assembly Manual for details on required parts, including aluminum tubes, ABS pipes, micro screws M1.4x3.5L and 6L, and direct screw-in to 1 mm dia hole (no nut). However, there are many small parts involved, so using an M1.4-P0.3 tap is recommended for introducing threads. The quantity of screws can be adjusted based on your experience. E. Total Net Print Time: Approximately 60 hours - Estimated as the case with PLA, a 0.4mm nozzle, a 0.2mm layer height, 40% infill, and no raft or support. Note: Actual print parameters may vary depending on your experience.
