They appear as humanoid trees and plants and typically they are slow, but can be deceptively quick when roused to anger. They are extremely long lived if not immortal and rarely if ever meddle in the affairs of short-lived beings. Some consider themselves shepherds of the trees, but some are more militant in nature and consider themselves wardens and guardians of the Eldest among them. Tree Folk consider the Queen of the Woods to be their kin and they form the closest circle of her guards and advisors.
