4x6 Photo Holder
thingiverse
This is a simple holder frame for a 4x6 photo print, designed to sit proudly on a desk or shelf. I aimed to make it visually appealing by deviating from the usual straight cross shape. I created this model in Onshape, a cloud-based 3D CAD application that offers a wealth of features and is surprisingly easy to use. The image is real - no Photoshop tricks here! My cat's name is Frankie, and he's the true star of the show. This design was inspired by Burbbafett's 6x4 photo holder: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1540195/apps/#apps Edit: I added IGES and Solidworks files to make it easier for others to remix this design. Print Settings Printer: Maker Select IIIP (Wanhao I3 rebranded) Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 10% Notes: This is just my take on print settings; your mileage may vary. I used eSun PLA Pro purple, a lovely shade that happens to be my wife's favorite color, at 215 deg C and a bed temp of 60deg C on a glass bed. Simplify3D was my slicer of choice. However, I did encounter some issues with the top layer not being solid. I suspect it might have something to do with my slicer settings, but I'm still investigating. Time for another print run and some trial-and-error experimentation!
