Tony Fisher initially constructed the 4x4x6 cuboid from a standard Rubik's 4x4x4 in 2004. In 2011, Joshua Bell commissioned an open-source version of this design. However, printing the supplied STL files requires high-end printers like Shapeways' SLS machines due to their 0.7mm wall thickness. Alternatively, the SolidWorks file can be used for learning puzzle design or creating derivatives. To assemble, you will need M3 screws, springs (10mm), washers, and silicone lubricant. If desired, an assembled copy can be purchased by contacting tom@tomvanderzanden.nl. The SolidWorks file is organized in folders for clarity, and a zip file with all STL files is provided for easy downloading.
